Genma-Kalmar ARTGs for Ningbo Zhoushan

News

Genma-Kalmar has officially handed over six fully automated, electric RTGs to long-term customer Ningbo Zhoushan Port (NZP) following a 16 hours’ endurance test at the BLTCT site

In 2022 NZP handled 33.5M TEU, the third highest container port ranking after Singapore and Shanghai. BLTCT is the largest of the nine container terminals in NZP.

The fully automated and electric RTGs have a SWL of 41 tonnes stack 6 + 1 and 1 over 5 x 9ft 6in high. They are powered off an overhead busbar power supply.

“With our focus firmly on improving the sustainability and automation of our operations, reducing the noise and airborne emissions that our crane generates is a must,” said Susan Zha, VP, GM, Terminal Container Handling Solution, Rainbow Industries Co, Ltd, the owner of the Genma-Kalmar brand, which incorporates the IPR and references of Cargotec’s Kalmar brand cranes and associated automation products and services.

“Over the years we have delivered a notable number of RTGs to this important customer and its affiliates, and now we are proud to help them improve the sustainability of their operations with our up-to-date automation technology.”
