Kazakhstan plans new China-Russia transit route
NewsKazakhstan is developing a new trade route from China to Russia via the Irtysh River, with a port and railway planned, aiming for completion by 2026.
Russia and land-locked Belarus are intensifying co-operation in the Baltic region.
Last year, the volume of cargo shipped from mainland Russia to its Kaliningrad enclave across Belarus almost doubled and Russian hauliers transiting Belarus now receive most favoured nation treatment. Bilateral trade is forecast to double this year to US$200 mill.
