After five successive years of declining container traffic, the Port of Buenos Aires rebounded spectacularly last year, posting a 17.6 per cent increase in throughput to 963,000 TEU. However, there are fears that the trend to deploy bigger vessels in ECSA trades will benefit Montevideo and the Brazilian port of Rio Grande do Sul.
