China’s ports see 8.1% YoY volume growth in early 2024
NewsLast year, all the Chinese ports handled 16.97 Bt, having exceeded their 2022 volume by nearly 8%. Shanghai throughputs surged, Hong Kong saw a downfall.
Shanghai set for new record
Shanghai, the world’s largest port, will handle a record 500 mt of cargo this year, having chalked up 263 mt in the first six months, said Huang Xin, vice president of Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG).
