Driven by a 28% growth in throughput in 2007, DP World is to invest some US$35M on upgrading its Port Adelaide container terminal to meet expected demand through to 2012.

Volumes last year rose from 202,000 TEU to 255,000 TEU on the back of additional direct-call services, although subsequently it has been announced that one of those, Hamburg Sud’s Trident ANZ-ECNA-Europe pendulum, will be withdrawn in late May due to a major reorganisation.
