Evergreen founder Chang Yungfa has rebutted a report that his group’s container shipping unit, Evergreen Marine Corp, may pull out of the Port of Kaohsiung to save money.

“How could Evergreen withdraw its operations from Kaohsiung given that the port is an irreplaceable operating base in southern Taiwan?” Chang said.
