…ABB/ZPMC bag Algeciras ASC deal

An ABB/ZPMC consortium has won the order for the 16 stacks (ie 32 ASCs on the same rails) to serve the eight ZPMC quay cranes at phase 1 of TTI Algeciras, as part of a package deal with Hanjin that should eventually include its new terminal in Jaxport. However, the latter terminal is not expected to start operations until end 2012/ early 2013 – two years later than planned – and the delay could have an impact on costings.
