DP World has reportedly torn up its previous preferences for London Gateway (see WorldCargo News June 2008, p1) and opened up the automation stacks to new bidders. It is also believed now to favour manual shuttle carriers as they decouple at both ends and save on upfront costs compared to automated shuttle carriers and also have the flexibility to take containers from the CY to the adjacent DC.
