China’s ports see 8.1% YoY volume growth in early 2024
NewsLast year, all the Chinese ports handled 16.97 Bt, having exceeded their 2022 volume by nearly 8%. Shanghai throughputs surged, Hong Kong saw a downfall.
Lower Chinese volumes signal trade slowdown?
Though throughout is still running well ahead of 2009 levels, some analysts foresee a slowdown in global container trade after China’s two biggest ports, Shanghai and Shenzhen, posted lower volumes for June compared with the month before.
