The transition from port authority to private control of the Skandia container terminal in Gothenburg appears to have gone well so far. In January this year the facility was handed over to APM Terminals (APMT) on a 25 year lease. The move brought the port’s lo-lo operations in line with mainstream European practice and provides the port with a greater presence in the Baltic and in northern Europe. In July a new productivity record was achieved.
