Felixstowe automates RTGs

Hutchison Ports’ Port of Felixstowe has kick started its autonomous truck project featuring Westwell’s Q-Trucks.

The new cranes were manufactured by ZPMC at its Nantong facility in China. They will join eight other ARTGs ZPMC previously delivered to YICT.

Plans to develop a 25-ha depot to store empty containers and a barge/feeder terminal on the Rotterdam Maasvlakte are likely to be abandoned in favour of a facility for Medrepair, a subsidiary of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
