Connecticut Port Authority has applied for the permit from the US Army Corps of Engineers for construction work at the Thames River at State Pier, New London

The governor of Connecticut, USA, Ned Lament, announced earlier this year that agreement on a PPP development had been reached by Connecticut Port Authority, Gateway Terminal, Ørsted and Eversource Energy, which is the largest energy provider in New England. The investment amounts to US$157M.

 

Subject to the USACE permit, work at the Thames River State Pier site in New London will commence in early 2021 and should be completed in August 2022.

 

The terminal will handle mainly wind farm equipment for Ørsted, but will be open for third party heavy lift and project cargo business.
