Thermo King moves ahead with energy efficient reefers

Maersk Container Industry (MCI) has introduced its latest version of its Star Cool Intelligent Trip Inspection (ITI) automated system. It will further cut the time and resources needed for manual pre-trip inspections (PTI) of reefer containers. PTIs are essential in ensuring the functionality and safety of reefer containers before they are loaded with cargo, but they are costly and take time.

In August, the Slovenian port of Koper completed a new section of reefer racks at the container terminal, adding 315 reefer plugs and bringing the total number of electric plugs for reefer boxes to more than 1,000.

Port Freeport in Florida has concluded a long-term lease agreement with Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc (Del Monte) that will lead to the large fresh fruit producer and transport company moving its operations in Florida to the port in 2024.
