Tank operators target cost cuts

Widnes (UK)-based Suttons International, a leading supplier of freight transport services for the chemicals industries, and LogChain, which offers a digital platform for supply chain management, have stated working together on a number of initiatives.

The Hamburg-based Hoyer Group, which is one of the world’s largest operators of tank containers and other equipment for transporting liquids and gases, is to invest over €100M, in assets, digitalisation programmes and infrastructure.

Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd, part of Globstar, Inc, is to equip all INEOS Oxide’s tank containers and tank wagons in Europe with its Ovinto Sat real-time tracking and monitoring devices

The International Tank Container Organisation (ITCO) has published its 11th Annual Tank Container Fleet Survey. As of 1 January 2023, the survey estimates that the global tank container fleet had reached 801,800 units worldwide, compared with the figure of 737,935 units on 1 January 2022 – a year-on-year growth of 8.65%.
