AfCFTA to begin on New Year’s Day

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is due to come into effect on 1 January 2021. In addition to boosting intra-regional traffic volumes, the agreement will raise the region’s global trading role by stimulating economic growth and attracting more foreign inward investment to the continent.
