Haifa-based Zim Integrated Shipping Services is shaking up its transpacific and Asia/Mediterranean/Asia liner networks.

South Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has announced that five of the country’s container lines have agreed to operate their services between Korea and Southeast Asia in a new alliance.

SM Line will replace HMM as 2M’s partner on the transpacific.

With HMM onboard THE Alliance will have four top 10 carriers.

Industry expert predicts the current carrier alliance structure will be replaced by a handful of stronger, individual lines with a deeper reach into landside logistics.
