Retrofit remote RTGs deliver ‘acceptable’ performance

PSA Sines has ordered six Automated RTGs from Konecranes, a system it was previously working to implement with Kalmar.

Porto Itapoá will be the first port in South America to use remote controlled RTGs from ZPMC when it implements 10 new machines this year.

COSCO-HIT has opened a new Remote Operations Centre for the first 15 of the terminal’s RTGs that have been converted to automated and remote controlled operations.

COSCO-HIT – a 50-50 joint venture between HIT Holdings Limited and COSCO Pacific Ltd that operates two berths at CT-8 (East) at the Kwai Tsing Container Port – has opened a new Remote Operations Centre for the first 15 of its RTGs to have been converted from manned to remote operation.

Kloosterboer’s new terminal is using a mix of on-site software and “managed services” to support its automated RTG operation.
