PSA IT tender

News-in-print

PSA Singapore has this month issued a tender for an IT system for identifying containers and equipment under an STS crane.

The tender, it is believed, is another step in PSA’s development of the AGV system that it intends to implement at the Tuas Megaport project. PSA is taking the same approach as it has followed with other technology for Tuas, and is first testing and developing the system at its existing facilities while Tuas is built.

The requirement is for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a container number recognition system. It must also be able to identify the door direction of the containers, both in the crane portal for terminal tractor operations, and in the backreach for handling AGVs. In addition, the system has to be able to identify prime movers under the STS crane.

The tender is for one quay crane system initially, with an option for an additional four units.
