A major new collaborative project involving railway operators and other transport firms has been set up to convert more trucking between Austria and Italy via the Brenner to intermodal rail traffic.
BRAVO (Brenner rail freight action strategy) comprises five different traction providers (albeit with cross-holdings): Trenitalia, ÖBB, Railion Deutschland, Lokomotion and RTC Rail Traction Company; two UIRR operators, Cemat and Ökombi; terminal operator Interporto Bologna; and Greek forwarder Hellas Transport.
