Genset deal for Globe Tracker and Emerson
Globe Tracker ApS and Emerson Transport Solutions have signed a cooperation agreement to develop a genset tracking and monitoring system. The new M2M solution will be integrated into Emerson’s ProAct services platform through a secure API, and installed on new and retrofit equipment, to help operators manage their genset assets.
“We are pleased to work with Emerson’s Transportation Solutions team as a global OEM telematics provider. Globe Tracker’s M2M solution will provide Emerson a proven and robust solution, offering real-time visibility to reefer gensets”, said Jákup Lamhauge, CEO of Globe Tracker.
“This is a great opportunity for Emerson to provide an advanced M2M solution for gensets, together with Globe Tracker,” said Keith Browning, vice president and general manager, Transportation Solutions, Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions. “We expect rapid adoption of genset M2M solutions because, as reefer containers move from point of landfall to their final destination, they depend on electrical power from gensets, and real-time visibility is a critical element in protecting cargo integrity during the last mile,” added Browning.
