Portchain has inked the deal with Ocean Network Express to improve the carrier’s berth alignment, enhancing efficiency and sustainability in port operations.
Portchain, a Danish provider of berth alignment and planning software for container terminals and carriers, has partnered with Ocean Network Express (ONE) to drive sustainability across the carrier’s network through the digitalization of berth alignment.
This partnership aims to speed up a terminal and ONE’s digital communication for berth changes, benefiting both with optimized resources.
ONE chose to digitalize its berth alignment process and has seen positive adoption with mutual benefits at the trial terminals.
Most port calls worldwide are currently managed manually using phone calls, EDI, emails, and spreadsheets. This results in inefficiencies, like ships sailing to wait outside ports due to delayed or uncoordinated slots.
As WorldCargo News previously reported, Portchain in March this year announced the inclusion of the 100th terminal in the Portchain Connect Network.
