Rail automation live in Australia
NewsQube commenced “normal automated operations” at the import/export terminal (IMEX) of the new Moorebank rail facility near Sydney in May and June this year.
Sea-Land (Australia) Terminals (SLAT) – soon to be restyled to reflect the name of majority owner CSX World Terminals (CSXWT) – has secured a new lease on its principal Australian business, the Adelaide international container terminal.
After almost two years of uncertainty following the South Australian Government’s decision to sell the state’s ports (including Adelaide), SLAT reached a “sudden” agreement with Ports Corp SA in mid October. While the company did not get the 10-year extension it was seeking, it pronounced itself satisfied with the undisclosed terms of the new lease.
