Colombo concession in limbo

It looks as if the concession process for the Colombo Port East Container Terminal (CPECT) will be cancelled, with bids submitted by the seven parties interested in the deal likely to be disqualified. It follows a decision by the Sri Lankan Government’s Cabinet Committee on Economic Management to change the conditions of the concession, with a view to keeping the new terminal under port authority control.
