Ports of Bilbao and Amsterdam meet on development of hydrogen corridor

CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal and the Port Authority of Bilbao, have inaugurated the extension of the on-dock rail yard, in an event presided over by Basque Region Chairman Lehendakari Íñigo Urkullu
The event was also attended by Sun Kai, CEO of CSP Spain and Ricardo Barkala, President of the Port Authority of Bilbao.
The terminal’s four railway tracks have been extended by 100m, allowing for the operation of 550m trains. In addition, the railway area has increased from 13,950 to 41,800 m2 through the addition of a new yard exclusively devoted to the railway terminal with a maximum daily capacity of 3,000 TEU.
Following the acquisition of two new RMGs, capacity for train handling has been increased by 45%, resulting in an additional capacity of 180,000 TEU. Four new reach stackers have also been acquired. Total investment cost comes to €10M.
In Q1 2019, rail traffic over the port increased by 26.6% year-on-year to 3.16 Mt.
