Mi-Jack adds tractors

Gaussin has announced the commissioning of electric APM 75T HE tractors ordered by the port terminal of Abidjan, operated by Bolloré Ports, in 2019
This is the first terminal in Africa to receive and use the new technology dedicated to container transport.
This fully electric HE model is designed to allow significant savings in operating costs, in terms of both maintenance and energy. It is noiseless and emits zero CO2 emissions, at the same time increasing productivity, safety and driver comfort.
As reported by WCN in June 2019, these tractors match Gaussin’s electrical vehicles know-how with that of Bollore’ Group’s affiliated Blue Solutions in the production of electric batteries and that of Bolloré Ports in port logistics. The fully-electric APM 75T HE tractors have been designed particularly to incorporate technical specifications used by Bolloré Ports in the ports it operates.
In particular the tractors incorporate LMP batteries. The LMP battery (Lithium Metal Polymer) is not fast-charging, but it has been designed specifically for hot climates, thanks to its solid-state battery technology which is insensitive to variations in outdoor temperatures from -20°C to +60°C.
“The LMP battery is entirely made in France and stands out because of its high power density and safe use,” says Gaussin. “The solid electrolyte makes it extremely safe, with no risk of runaway heating. It is particularly suited to extreme climatic constraints and the high productivity demands that are put on heavy handling vehicles.
“LMP batteries do not contain any cobalt, nickel, solvent or “rare earth” elements, making them independent from materials that are becoming critical in social and environmental terms, and thus offer a valuable competitive edge in the current market.”
