Cavotec’s vacuum mooring takes hold at APMT’s MedPort Tangier
NewsCavotec’s vacuum mooring system has been inaugurated at APM Terminals MedPort Tangier.
APM Terminals MedPort Tangier (APMT Tangier), which is a major customer of Cavotec’s automated mooring system, has concluded a deal that will see the group service all of its MoorMaster NxG units and Power Units at the facility.
The agreement commits Cavotec to the “comprehensive and regular servicing of its automated mooring systems”. Regular maintenance is absolutely critical to ensuring consistent availability ogf the system and in reducing operating costs.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with APM Terminals through this comprehensive service agreement,” said Patrick Baudin, president of services at Cavotec. “Ensuring the peak performance of critical infrastructure is at the core of Cavotec’s mission, and we look forward to supporting APM Terminals in maintaining the efficiency and safety of their operations at the Port of Tanger Med.”
To date, Cavotec has installed 25 of its MoorMaster NxG automated vacuum mooring units and 17 Power Units at the terminal with further units being installed as part of APMT Tangiers third phase expansion programme which is due to be completed by the end of Q1 2024. At this time, Cavotec is expected to have 45 Cavotec MoorMaster NxG and 31 Power units.
