Cavotec has signed an order for shore power valued at about US$ 5 million. The order includes a substantial number of PowerFit shore power units, enabling vessels to connect to shore power with ease while docked. Deliveries are scheduled for later this year.

The company’s statement mentioned the contract was signed “with a global shipping company,” providing no additional details.

Cavotec’s PowerFit offers complete containerised solutions for high-voltage vessel connections, reducing air and noise pollution in ports.

”This partnership with a global shipping company is yet another confirmation of the strength of our offering,” said Patrick Mares, President of Ports & Maritime Division at Cavotec. “Our innovative shore power systems contribute to the decarbonisation of ports worldwide as well as quieter port environments.”

Headquartered in Switzerland, Cavotec offers shore power solutions for cruise vessels, container ships, and Ro-Ro ferries.
