Westports Holdings has kick started its Westports 2 container terminal expansion at Port Klang, Malaysia, which includes plans for terminal automation.

Westport Holdings reported a profit after tax of RM408 million, an increase of 8% when compared to last year’s equivalent of RM 378 million.

Westports Malaysia has invited “all reputable manufacturers and suppliers” to submit proposals for implementing a fleet of AGVs at its terminal.

Average increase of 13% on “key container tariff items” to take effect from 1 March 2019.

The Port Klang Authority (PKA) and Northport (Malaysia) Bhd have signed a 30-year extension of the concession agreement covering Northport and Soutpoint at Port Klang.
