Lübeck Port Company (LHG) and Lübeck University will carry out a feasibility aimed at developing a new data platform for ro-ro freight

Together with the University of Lübeck, LHG is working on a concept for an integrated booking and disposition platform for its ro-ro freight business, called "RoRo-Hafen-4.0". The aim of the project is to control the flow of information along entire transport chains and make it available to all parties involved, from a single source.

A feasibility study is to be launched, costed at €350,000 for its 18-month duration, and LHG has obtained a 50% grant from the IHATEC programme sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).

LHG's Managing Director Sebastian Jürgens said: "We are gradually expanding our digital know-how and strengthening our claim to be the innovator among the Baltic Sea ports.

BMVI has allocated a total of €64M for IHATE-backed R&D projects for the 2016-20 period.
