MSC to increase size gap, CMA CGM to surpass Maersk
NewsMSC is poised to increase size gap over CMA CGM, and Maersk will become the second-largest carrier; Hapag-Lloyd aims to maintain top-5 status.
Towards the end of May, MSC and Genoa-based bank Banca Carige signed a preliminary agreement to set the main terms and conditions for debt restructuring of Ignazio Messina Group. Under the deal, MSC will take a 49% share in the Genoa-based shipping company and terminal operator, as already anticipated in an agreement signed in February 2017.
