Unifeeder in further shipping acquisitions

Unifeeder, part of DP World, has announced a string of acquisitions to strengthen its hand in the Middle East and sub-continent markets

Through its ISC (India Sub Continent) platform, Unifeeder has announced the acquisition of Transworld Feeders FZCO, Avana Logistek Ltd and its subsidiary Avana Global FZCO, and Transworld Feeders Pvt Ltd, the containerised Indian coastal and imp/ex feeder shipping operations of Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Limited. The purchase excludes Transworld’s vessels and bulk operations.

The deal is expected to close later this year.

Avana Logistek and Avana Global cover 60 ports, while Transworld Feeders and Shreyas Shipping and Logistics cover 53 ports. Established in 1982, Transworld Feeders and Avana Global are leading feeder and NVOCC operators, offering container feedering services and regional trade solutions connecting a wide range of ports in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Far East with a number of central hub ports in the region, including the central hub port of Jebel Ali. Combined, the companies handle approximately 1.2M TEU annually.

Unifeeder now has a strong presence towards the west of the Indian sub-continent. The move complements its recent entry into the SEA market with the acquisition of Feedertech and Perma Shipping.
