Phoenix has launched the EcoMod 3 series, the third generation of its robust LED floodlights for crane-mounted applications that includes a “no-glare” optic option.
The EcoMod 3 updates the range of LED fixtures Phoenix first introduced to the market over a decade ago.
“Phoenix introduced the EcoMod Series LED floodlight in 2011 and brought a new technology to the terminal industry with light quality, efficiency, and durability. Those first-generation floodlights remain installed and performing at ports worldwide, including Long Beach Container Terminal in the Port of Long Beach, California. In 2016, Phoenix launched the EcoMod 2, with half the weight and size, and superior light quality than the original, and more than 10,000 units are installed worldwide. Phoenix has continued to pioneer heavy-duty floodlights for container handling cranes and is ready to unveil the third-generation fixture, the EcoMod 3 Series,” the company stated.
The EcoMod 3 was developed based on feedback from operators and crane OEMs. It features a cast aluminium housing and powder-coated steel mounting bracket for maximum corrosion resistance. The fixtures are IP67, UL1598A rated, and have “passed rigorous testing to survive extreme corrosion, shock, and vibration,” Phoenix added. Mounting brackets are available for different fixtures, mounting positions and retrofit requirements.
To deliver “more light for less cost” the floodlights are offered in three sizes, LO, HI, and MAX, emitting up to 15,000, 30,000, and 52,500 lumens, respectively. The three sizes allow use for all applications on STS, RTG, MHC and automated yard cranes.
For the EcoMod 3 series Phoenix has added a patented “no-glare” optic option that eliminates blinding reflection and glare. Other options include light patterns ranging from wide flood to very narrow spot to suit the demands of different crane types and applications.
With improved heat dissipation the floodlights are rated for high temperature applications up to 60°C. “If preferred, an optional Amber model improves visibility in high fog conditions and inclement weather. The EcoMod 3 is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and is available immediately,” Phoenix concluded.
