Transit traffic and forest products boost Kotka
Increasing containerisation of forest product exports and Russian transit traffic have provided the Port of Kotka with unprecedented growth since the opening of the Mussalo container terminal in 2001. In the first 11 months of this year, the port’s container traffic rose 24% over the corresponding period last year to 289,940 containers (524,964 TEU) carrying 3.62 Mt of cargo.
