New straddle carriers and a new mobile harbour crane support ongoing traffic growth in Aarhus and Fredericia respectively
APM Terminals in Aarhus has taken delivery of six new straddle carriers from Kalmar, bringing fleet size to 36. “We have seen continuous volume growth over the past years at our terminal and we want to continue to be ready to meet future customer demands,” said Helle Almind, APMT Aarhus commercial manager.
Recently, Denmark’s largest container terminal installed 180 more reefer plugs.
The municipally-operated Port of Fredericia has taken delivery of a new Konecranes Gottwald Generation 6 mobile mobile crane. Maximum lifting capacity is 150 tons under hook and the crane is equipped to run off the port’s grid for zero emissions handling.
The port is an established customer for Gottwald MHCs. This crane is believed to be its first G6 crane. At the time of writing, the port is offering for sale a G4 HMK 260 crane, built in 2004 by Demag Gottwald.
