Vacuum mooring technology has been used successfully to dampen vessel motions in long wave conditions at the Port of Salalah.

Mooring System Limited (MSL) of New Zealand produces a range of vacuum mooring products that moor a ship without ropes. Units have been in service in Australia and New Zealand for several years and some of these have performed over 15,000 moorings.
