Konecranes to supply hybrid RTGs for CMA CGM Kaohsiung Terminal
NewsKonecranes to supply five hybrid rubber-tired gantry cranes to CMA CGM Kaohsiung Terminal in Taiwan, with delivery set for mid-2025.
Fuchs’ Benelux distributor Van der Spek has delivered a new Fuchs MHL360F handler to Buijs Groot-Ammers. The new 48t handling machine was immediately put to work at the port of Moerdijk, where it unloaded cargo from a small coaster into a factory’s hopper. Buijs operates 15 handling machines, including Fuchs units, in various Dutch ports.
With a reach of 18m, the new MHL360F rubber-tyred crane can handle mid-sized coasters without any problems. The cranked boom makes it possible to cope with the freeboards. With the grapple, the reach is 19.5m. It was delivered with Fuchs’ new award-winning Fox Cab, which will be introduced to all models in the coming months.
The cab has more glass to improve visibility, new joystick steering control for improved manoeuvrability, and a revised interior for more space and greater operator comfort. It was specially designed for Fuchs material handlers.
The machine is fitted with a 190 kW fuel-efficient Deutz six-cylinder diesel engine, which drives the three Bosch-Rexroth hydraulic pumps. Two 280 litre/min pumps drive the boom and grapple, and one separate 140 litre/min pump drives the swing. Through this set-up, the machine is faster and smoother to operate than the previous series, said Fuchs.
“These are exciting times for the Fuchs business,” said Dominik Vierkotten, Fuchs’s managing director. “We are strengthening the Fuchs team, increasing local support by growing our distribution network, broadening and updating our purpose-built handler line for the market, and customising our equipment to meet specific application needs for our customers.”
As previously discussed, Fuchs was not part of the Terex MHPS line sold to Konecranes, and, as such, remains part of the Terex Group.
